Small Cities and Towns Development Demonstration Sector Projects

Under contract to the Asian Development Bank, AECOM International Development is simultaneously preparing three urban infrastructure development projects in the provinces of Hebei, Liaoning, and Shanxi in China. Executed in collaboration with sister AECOM companies Metcalf & Eddy and ENSR, this project will help the Chinese government invest in projects to facilitate economic development, expand utility services, enhance environmental protection and management, support employment generation, and raise household income levels. We will verify the technical, financial, economic, social, and environmental feasibility of infrastructure investment projects in water supply, wastewater, transportation, district heating, solid waste, and education. Selection criteria defined under the project will allow counterpart agencies to identify and prepare additional investment projects during implementation of the three projects.
