Master Plan and Market Assessment for the Kakinada Special Economic Zone
AECOM International Development conducted a market assessment and master planning study for the planned Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ). AECOM International Development analyzed likely investments and projected demand for serviced industrial land, utilities, and labor in 16 sectors based on the current competitive position of the KSEZ, historical investment in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, and likely future trends in targeted sectors. The KSEZ will have an anchor tenant of a large oil and natural gas refinery and will host an on-site electrical generation plant. AECOM International Development drafted a comprehensive marketing plan for the KSEZ to maximize the number of investors attracted to locate in the zone. AECOM International Development also created a Master Plan for this 5,000-hectare mixed use Special Economic Zone, which includes land for heavy industry; light industry; and logistics, commercial, residential, and recreational uses. AECOM International Development is currently analyzing the zone to optimize its financial structure to ensure that development is profitable and is drafting a detailed implementation plan to ensure a successful operational launch.
