Ukraine: People’s Voice Project
PADCO serves as the lead coordinator of the World Bank/CIDA People's Voice Project, a multi-year local governance strengthening program. The project is intended to assist Ukraine in developing a civil society and municipal accountability. The aim is to provide support to the NGO community in order to monitor government service delivery, and to support a training program for municipal officials to take citizens’ interests into account.
The project is being implemented in 6 cities selected to represent different parts of the country and different city sizes. PADCO develops an annual work plan based on consultation with stakeholders, partner institutions and local project representatives. In addition, PADCO provides guidance to project representatives in developing local plans and assessing training and resource needs, and monitors the implementation of all project activities. Feedback on changes to the work plan is provided on a regular basis to the World Bank.
