Community-Based Reconstruction
Sustainable reconstruction requires community participation through key stakeholder linkages. Sufficient community buy-in will catalyze the transition from disaster to development. The Crisis Response and Stabilization group's community-based approach encourages not only the restoration of habitat, but also its improvement—while enhancing livelihoods through participatory social and economic change. It is the participatory approach that helps heal the psychological wounds inflicted by the conflict or disaster, contributing to a foundation for long-lasting community development.
